Quotations

"But if you observe, people always live for ever when there is an annuity to be paid them..." ---page 8
I chose this because it is very true. When people know they are getting money they heve something to live for. One of the themes in this story is greed and many people would rather have money then love; and when you are given an annuity you are greedy for more and more money.
"Misery such as mine has no pride. I care not who knows I am wretched." ---page 164
I chose this because it talks about misery. In the book many people feel pain and get their hearts broken. Marianne knows that how she acts after Willoughby leaves her is wretched and childish.
"It is a reasonable and laudable pride which resists such malevolence." ---page 164
I chose this because Pride can be a bad thing. In the book pride takes away many good things that the characters have or want. Willoughby's pride lost him Marianne, John Dashwood lost his family, and many others lost things too.
