THEMES



Unrequited Love
This is a theme because many people have this problem in he story. There is Lucy and Edward, and Marianne and Colonel Brandon. Lucy is in love with Edward in the first part of the book, but Edward is in love with Elinor. Marianne loves Willoughby and will always have feelings for him, but Colonel Brandon loves Marianne even when she has no feelings toward him.
Family 

The family in this story is very close; when one person hurts they feel the pain. The Mother loves her children and would do anything to make them happy. The daughters look out for each other and help each other when one of them needs help.
Deceitfulness
Many lies are told through out this story and many people are hurt by it. Many of the men in this book are deceitful and lie to the women they say they love. Edward lies to Elinor and Willoghby lies to Marianne and both women are hurt by this.
Love
The entire book is about people trying to find true love. Although many people get hurt on the way the characters still try and find love. Many of them do and get married to amazing people. 


Happiness
Everybody wants a Happy ever after and that is one thing many people find in the book. Elinor marries the man she loved and so did Marianne. Mrs. Dashwood wanted her children to be happy and she did very well at it. In the book many people are happy in the end.
